  1. Mandate of the Sub-Directorate  

Directorate Inspections Survives regulates the importation of plants, animals and their products and the other regulated goods in order to prevent and control the spread and establishment of quarantine pests and diseases

The genetics Resources Mandate is to ensure that all agricultural products comply with legislative requirements and that phytosanitary risks are effectively managed

Enforce compliances through inspections to ensure that the quality and the physiology of the seed /propagating material, plant material meet international obligations and national legislations.

Ensures seed trade through the official ports of entry/exit and regional districts, established seed premises, nursery and field inspection to ensure food security

Ensure the correct labelling of all containers.

This division conduct inspections of plant, material and seeds (propagating material) at official ports of entry/exit and regional districts to ensure compliance with national legislations and international obligations.

Conduct inspections to ensure regulatory compliance on established seed premises, nursery and field inspection and collects samples for laboratory testing.

Importers, exporters, service providers and processors of regulated agricultural products as well as live plants and their products.

Seed sellers, seed producers and other stakeholders such as Provincial departments of Agriculture and tertiary institutions
