AgriBEE Steering Committee meets


Pretoria: The Steering Committee has today adopted the “Large-scale AgriBEE Scorecard” in its monthly meeting. This follows the adoption of the AgriBEE Framework document last month. A task team has been assigned to finalise the Implementation Plan, which is expected to be ready in two weeks.

The Committee will be meeting with Ms Thoko Didiza, Minister for Agriculture and Land Affairs soon to hand in the much-awaited report. The meeting has agreed that an Indaba needs to be held before the end of October.

The process, which started last year, is nearing its end, as the mandate of the 16 member Steering Committee was to engage and consult with the different stakeholders. In addition, the Committee was to receive and assess comments from the public, organised farmer unions and farm-worker representatives.

The next meeting of the Committee is scheduled for 04 October 2005 in Pretoria.
