LAND SUMMIT 2005


LAND SUMMIT : 27 - 31 July 2005

Following the announcement by the Minister for Agriculture and Land Affairs Ms Thoko Didiza in her Budget Vote Speech on 12 April 2005, the Land Summit will be held from 27-31 July in Johannesburg’s Nasrec Conference Centre.

The provincial Departments of Agriculture together with their counterparts at the Department of Land Affairs are already holding their summits as a build up to the National Land Summit.

Purpose of the Land Summit:

To draw from international experiences on their land reform policies and open frank and honest dialogue on South Africa's policies on land reform.

Format:

The Summit will take place over five-day period.

Participants:

National and provincial government departments, organised agriculture, civil organisations, general public, professors and institutions of higher learning and international speakers.
