The aim of the branch will be to contribute to maintaining and restoring the productive capacity and biodiversity of the marine environment, ensuring the protection of human health, as well as promoting the conservation and sustainable use of marine living resource.

The branch further aims to ensure that the degradation of the marine environment from land-based activities is prevented by facilitating the realization of the duty of the DAFF to preserve and protect the marine environment through the application of the respective policies, priorities and resources.

Please be advised that the Department has concluded the Fishery Performance Review Process started in 2009 on 30 March 2012. Your attention is drawn to the enclosed public notice for more information. Furthermore, please note that Fisheries Managers will circulated this public notice to all Associations, Recognised Industrial Bodies, Management Working Groups, and Right Holders; Fishery Control Officers will publish this notice on their notice boards, and the Customer Service Centre will publish it in the CSC and refer all queries to the Office of the CD: Marine Resource Management: 0214023491, 0214023399, or 0214023614 and the CSC at 0860003474 (share-call).
